Make Money with Your Blog using Adsense

Google Publisher Program - AdsenseIf you have other ways to make money with your blog, don’t use Google Adsense or Yahoo Publisher Network or any other PPC programs. The most obvious reason is that you are giving away your traffic for that few cents. If your readers are aware of this Ads by Google program, you can hardly get clicks from them. Also, many tech-savvy visitors are just blind to such ads.

However, if you still want use Adsense, here’s what you can do to increase your revenue.

SourceCodeGoldMine – I’ve Got Mine!

I missed out on the previous two versions of Source Code Goldmine by Jeremy Burns. So I was determined to get my hand on his Version 3. It was launched earlier today(USA timezone).

I bought the Source Code Goldmine main product offers and also one-time-offer – the CMAP package, which consisted of audio e-books, autoresponder emails and e-courses for e-zine marketing purposes. And I’ll be getting “fast action bonus” too – for the first 175 SCGoldmine V3 resellers.

So what am I going to do with US$324 worth of PLR products?!

With the Private Label Rights on all the SCGoldmine products, there are a couple of products which I am interested to customise into my own. Also there are some interesting ones which I will use for my own reference. As for the rest, I may set up some web sites to resell the products.

There are just too much content in this new SCGoldmine V3 offer! It’s really value for money. It took me more than 3 hours to download and I am using broadband. So I’ve hardly any time to reveal any of the product yet. From the quality of Jeremy Burns earlier versions SourceCodeGoldMine, I guess this version 3 will be his best ever.

I will keep you updated when I get my hands on using the products and possibly do a review on SourceCodeGoldMine V3!

Adsense Content Websites

Reflecting thoughtsYou know all the hypes about making money with Adsense. You have PLR Adsense Websites, Adsense website templates and tons of Internet marketers peddling Adsense related products on the net and in your mailbox. And one of the most popular name in this area is Joel Comm. He is the author of the e-book Adsense Secrets. Nowadays, if you’re on his mailing list, he will be blasting emails to sell you all sorts of stuff that are profitable to him and I believe he makes more money doing email marketing than selling his own Adsense Secrets e-book.

Now, let’s talk about Adsense Content Website. Is it still profitable to build a content website and monetize the traffic with Adsense?

Well, let me put it in this way. In the ideal Google world, Ads by Google should be placed on web pages with interesting and useful content that visitors love, particular niche websites. So if your website falls in this category, then you can expect to make money with Adsense in the long run. However, if you are using one of those PLR Adsense Websites which I mentioned above or pulling contents from other websites and paste them into one of the Adsense website templates then I would tell you not to waste your time.

Recently, one of the participants of my SEO workshop asked me how he should go about building niche marketing website to make money with Adsense. These are my advices to him:

Adsense Trapped1. Build a website on a topic that is close to your heart, it should be something that you have lots of knowledge or experience. It may be your hobby, things that you do during your free time or even your profession.

2. Your website will be interesting to your reader if you write the content with interest.

3. No idea what is hot and traffic pulling. Read the weekly supplements of the local newspapers, e.g. Digital Life, Mind Your Body and Urban. Or go to eBay and research what are people buying…

4. Don’t worry about Adsense or generating revenue, think about your readers first. Write to tell a story. Because good stories bring you good traffic.

Housekeeping Niche

How about a housekeeping and cleaning services niche? I guess no one likes to do house cleaning. When comes to cleaning, I alway have better things to do and find all types of excuse to get myself out of the mess – which usually I am the culprit who have created the rubbish around the house. This is probably common to modern living. And we go make the money and pay someone else to clear up our mess!

So I am sure more and more people will be looking for professional housekeepers to help with this very necessary household chore. Here is a housekeeping and cleaning services in Singapore which happened to be one of my clients. Please do visit thier website if you have the money but not the time to take care of such mundane chore. Beside cleaning your home, they also provide cleaning to offices and childcare centers.

Yes, I hope to build a niche on this great service and help people to have more time to do what they enjoy doing.

Building Niche Site the Blogs Way

We had a long discussion at Plaza Singapura – about 3 hours talking about what we had done over the past year. The last time we met was about a year ago. At that time, YC prompted me to start building content websites. And I built several, each pulling in 30-50 unique visitors daily. I put up Adsense to monetize these traffics.

YC and I agree that Adsense is probably the “easiest and quickest” way to make money online today. Even big time Internet marketers have turned to using Adsense to generate 4 figures monthly income. And the way to do it easily and quickly is to build content websites. Not just website but niche website. The advantage of building niche websites is that you will still have a good chance to harness some organic search traffic.

I tend to look for niches that are popular with Singapore and Malaysia searchers. I believe these are growing markets yet to be tapped. I am sure the big boys are not here yet so it is relatively easier for my to get into Yahoo and MSN search listing. By the way, Yahoo is the preferred search engine in this region so you will get some traffic if you are listed in the first page of http://sg.search.yahoo.com and http://malaysia.search.yahoo.com

While researching on this idea, I came across an article by John Taylor. He suggested to use blogs to publish niche websites. Apparently, major search engines such as Google and Yahoo favour blogs’ content. It seems to be easier to get a decent ranking with a blogsite than a traditional website. Here’s the article which outlines how you can build profitable niche site the blogging way…

Benefits of Astaxanthin

I was working with one of the graduates from Richard Quek super TIMM seminar in December 2005 to promote his website selling natural astaxanthin. So I did some research and found out that it is a very powerful antioxidant – 550 time stronger than Vitamin E and 10 times more powerful than beta-carotene. It is especially beneficial to those who suffer from joints problems. I found this long list of astaxanthin’s benefits, there are more than 30 benefits of taking appropriate amount of this carotenoid.

I will be helping him to optimize his website for search engines. Our target is to use the search engines to generate at least 100 unique visitors daily in 3 months’ time. Lots of work to be done and I will have to start researching for the relevant and related keywords. Using nothing less than the SEO experts’ favorite, the paid version of Wordtracker.

How To Build A Profitable Niche Site Within 27 Minutes

By John Taylor (c) 2005

Building a portfolio of profitable niche sites is a great way of developing a recurring income stream. A typical niche mini site may only earn you $60 per week but at that rate, four such sites will generate a yearly income of over $12,000. I’ll let you figure out the earnings potential of 100 mini sites!

The niche mini site strategy is very straightforward. First, find a niche market with profit potential that isn’t already oversaturated with competitors. Identify a list of related keywords that people are searching on and then create keyword rich content pages that are optimized for each one of your keywords.

Traditionally, once you have your content pages, you would normally upload them to your site and monetize them with affiliate links and pay-per-click programs such as Google’s Adsense. However, why not make it easy on yourself and gain an added search engine advantage…

We now have access to an easy to use and versatile content management system that means building a niche mini site can be done on the fly. Yes, that’s right – The Blog!

At its very simplest, a blog is just a structure for managing web content. It’s the backbone, or skeleton, of a web site on which to hang the flesh. A blog is simply an easy way to enter and publish your content online.

Blogs don’t just have to be journals, rants, personal commentaries or diaries; blogs can take on a wide variety of forms and functions.

In fact you can just about build any kind of web site with a blog. Just think about it – a blog can be used very effectively to build a niche site. In fact, because they are so easy to use, blogs are one of the most effective niche mini site building tools.

More importantly, one of the most important reasons for choosing to use a blog is their attractiveness to the search engines and the effect they can have on attracting targeted traffic. According to a study released earlier this month by the Pew Internet and American Life Project, a full 27 percent of all online users now read blogs, a 58 percent increase from the early part of 2004.

So, how can you take advantage of blogging technology to build a successful niche mini site?

First, choose your niche, identify your primary keyword phrase and pick out about ten secondary keywords – the remaining keywords that you discover will be used later in the process.

The next step is to compile some relevant content based on your primary keyword phrase, just as you would when building a regular site. Then set up an account at http://www.Blog4Cash.com and publish your primary keyword content to your main category. Your niche mini site is already up and running.

Now create a new blog category for each of your 10 secondary keywords using each keyword as the name of a category. The next step is to compile content for each of the ten keywords and post that content in the appropriate category. You can then compile content for each of the remaining keywords and post that content in one of your ten categories.

The more keywords you find the more content you can add to your blog. I try to aim for at least ten keywords /pages per category. Eventually you could have hundreds of pages. Each of those pages will have a link to your 10 Categories. And each of those links will use the anchor text of your most important keywords. As a result of all those internal keyword-rich links, your site will end up ranking very well in the search engines for your Category names.

Your next step is to set up your traffic system. This is where using a blog to build sites gives you a real advantage. There are many special RSS/blog directories that are hungry for feeds. By submitting your new niche blog to these directories, you will begin getting traffic almost immediately. Quite often these feeds will result in a lot more traffic than all the major search engines combined. This is why it makes so much sense to build your niche site as a blog. You will enjoy much more traffic, and get it much faster than with a traditional HTML based site.

Here is a list of some of the top specialist directories you should submit your niche site to: http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55

As soon as you’ve submitted your site to the directories, it’s time to get it indexed by Yahoo! by adding your RSS feed to your MyYahoo! page. If you don’t have a MyYahoo! page, just go to http://www.yahoo.com. Now click on the MyYahoo! link at the top and set up your free account. Once you have your account set up, click on Add Content, then add the URL of your blog RSS feed into the Find Content box.

When you return to your MyYahoo! page, your first niche blog post should be shown. If you go look at your web stats for your site, you’ll find that the Yahoo! spider has probably already made a visit. Your new site should be indexed in Yahoo! in just a couple of days.

Every time you add another content page to your blog, you can alert the RSS/blog directories by “pinging” them. There is a wonderful site at http://www.pingomatic.com that makes this very easy. You just have to enter the URL of your blog and Pingomatic will send your ping to Yahoo and about 15 other large directories. That will bring the spiders back to your site almost immediately!

I would recommend that you write and add a new keyword rich content page every day until you have between 40 to 60 pages. Blogs that are frequently updated tend to get the most traffic. After a couple of months, you’ll have a 60 page niche site that will already be getting a lot of traffic. You will also discover that your regular updates will stimulate the major search engines to spider your site every day. And, if you’ve monetized your site with Google Adsense and relevant affiliate programs, you will also be making a healthy profit!

Once you learned how easy and profitable it is to build your niche sites with a blog, you’ll soon be building more and more money making niche sites!

Niche Marketing – Work at Home Moms

With the killer app Directory Generator which I paid a small fortune for it, I would have to make full use of it. Yes, I have created several directories for my existing websites. However, I want to explore other areas expand into different niche markets.

I created http://www.online-dating-directory.info to attempt to carve a slice of the growing traffic to this particular industry. However, this is a totally new area for me and after a couple of weeks of research I realise that I do not have much interest in this area. So let’s just leave the website alone and see how it turns out in a couple of months.

By the way, I build a directory on the famous detective Sherlock Holmes, check it out:

http://www.sherlockholms.com

Just got a brainwave this morning! And I am very excited. Guess what? I want to start a website to give away kids coloring book rather, more accurately its coloring picture, to busy moms and dads to print out on their printers for their kids to color. A very simple idea and I love simple idea. Very niche too – targeting work at home moms (and dads too).

Ok, I am not an expert on kids. I do not have any kid at home. I want to attract traffic to this very simple website that help to temporarily alleviate a seemingly chronic problem. And here’s my plan:

1. Registered 2 domain names 2 hours ago and they are already live!

http://www.kidscoloringbook.info

and

http://www.kids-coloring-book.com

(I choose “color” instead of “colour” – first, this is to target USA audience and second to save 1 key stroke! I hope the Brits will understand.)

2. Build www.kidscoloringbook.info as a directory of coloring book and related topics on color and kids. This website will have more pages to attract search engine traffic. This traffic will be funneled to the targeted website, www.kids-coloring-book.com

3. The main website is www.kids-coloring-book.com where I will give away the coloring book or coloring pages – these are simple line drawings for children to fill in the color. This is a fantastic way to keep children occupied so the moms and dads can get their chores done. And one of the best way for the kids to express their creativity and for moms and dads to understanding their kids better – yes, you can learn a lot about a kid with the colors she used and her colouring stroke!
