A Handy SEO Tool for Quick Keyword Research
Here, I will show you how to use Google Suggest as a SEO tool for keyword research. For those who are using Firefox, the keyword tool extension is “pre-installed” and should be already familiar with this feature.

A Quick Tutorial on Keyword Research using Google Suggest
In the example above screen-shot, I type in “singapore” and Google suggested a list of popular search terms that begin with “singapore”. Now, I know “singapore airlines” is one of the most highly search phrase. Also, more people search for “singapore airlines” then “singapore airline”.
You see, Google Suggest is really a convenient keyword suggestion tool for quick keyword research and I use it very often when I write, especially useful for getting the related keywords for use in my blog posts.
Keywords Suggestion for Singapore Shopping
Let’s say you have a website on shopping and you want to attract visitors who are looking for shopping information on Singapore. In order for you to get higher ranking for shopping terms related to Singapore, you will have to create more information on Singapore.
Now, you can use Google Suggest as a keywords generator to compile a list of popular keywords that start with “singapore“.
You can use the Google Suggest search terms as the keywords for your articles to be published at your shopping website.
Here’s my selection of keywords to use:
- Singapore Airlines (also Singapore Airlines check in)
- Singapore airport (also Singapore airport shopping)
- Singapore map (also Singapore map of MRT)
- Singapore hotels (also Singapore hotel deals)
- Singapore time zone and Singapore time difference
Google Suggest is a very handy keyword tool to find multi-term keyphrase.
And if you do not have Google extension installed yet, you can visit Google Suggest for Firefox to download the extension now.
Alternatively, you access the Google Suggest page directly to do your research at:
www.google.com/webhp?complete=1&hl=en

However, do take note that this is a handy keyword suggest tool for you to do quick search. It is by no mean a replacement for more sophisticated keyword research tools such as WordTracker or Nichebot.

To get higher PageRank, you need more backlinks and quality backlinks with higher PR.
If you can focus the topics of your blog to content that are related, then you’ll have a better chance of getting more backlinks. I think a tightly focused website will make it easier for search engine algorithm to categorize and rank your website in the SERP which in my opinion is more important than higher PR as far as getting targeted traffic is concerned.
Look at it this way, when you have more targeted traffic, you will have more backlinks over time and you PageRank will improved. This is exactly how Google wants your website/blog to grow - naturally.

Hi Admin,
Do you think keyword density is still an important factor in the latest Google ranking algorithm?
I’m trying to optimize for my blog but I just can’t repeat the keyword over each post as it will look unnatural so some of my posts contain less keywords while some are more. Overall the blog keyword density is pulled down. So just want to hear some expert comment from you as a to SEO guy about the relevance of keyword density for blogs?
Thank you so much
Ken

Hi Ken,
Keyword density is still important but not in terms of the percentage figure.
For blog, I prefer to optimize one keyphrase per post. I will use the keyphrase at least twice but not repeat it so often to make it looks unnatural.
If you are trying to get your blog homepage to ranked for a certain keyphrase then it is more challenging than with a static site.
