MyBlogLog - Just Like a Hit Exchange?
I think MyBlogLog works more like a hit exchange aka traffic exchange and may not be an effective blog marketing strategy.
Maybe you can call it Hit Exchange 2.0! The Web 2.0 version of the exchanging page view.
You log in to MyBlogLog, check who have been visiting your blogs. In return, you may visit their blogs or even leave a message. So for every 10 other blogs you visited, you will bound to get some curious click at your blog. And if you have a provocative avatar, you may get even more curious click. Your Alexa ranking will sure increase by leaps and bounce!
However, is this traffic considered as quality traffic? Are you getting targeted traffic?
I used MyBlogLog for just about a month and cannot really tell how good is this traffic. So I can only tell what I can track, Alexa ranking and Alexa statistics should be reliable, right. My Alexa ranking seems like it is going to the moon!
I still think MyBlogLog is a great service.
The question is… How can we prevent MyBlogLog becoming a hit exchange?
Ans: Yahoo has paid for it and … better do something about it!

I think it depends just like anything else. Some areas you might be able to get a ton of traffic (in fact some are), but others won’t. The downside I see is if you visit a popular blog, chances are the owner won’t be able to visit all the sites of people who visit their blog.

Yes, I am getting more traffic than before I join MyBlogLog. And having more traffic is better then less traffic - I really appreciate it.
I was thinking more from blog marketing standpoint. It would definitely help if I could search blog based on the area of interest, tags or some form of category instead of general search fro keywords.
It will be sad to see this great service being abused by “Internet marketers” - those email salespeople turned SMM. You can already see there are these online mongers present in the social bookmarking and social network communities.
